Here’s some photos from Insight4′s SharePoint 2013 Showcase last month at the Woolstore.
We invited clients and guests to see some of the new features of SharePoint 2013. SharePoint team lead George Begbie outlined some of the significant improvements made to the platform, and demonstrated the shiny, new, and modernised user experience.

Our Managing Director Jared Hill, was awarded the 2012 Tasmanian Pearcey Award for younger ICT entrepreneurs last week in Hobart.
Here’s a photo of Jared after he accepted the award (no doubt thanking all the great people who make us a successful company!)
The team at Insight4 would like to congratulate Jared and the other iAward category winners for their success!
Between Christmas and New Years some people like to relax….
.. and some don’t – including our very own Charles Nolan, who’s sailing a racing yacht some 630 nautical miles (1170 km) in this year’s Sydney to Hobart ocean yacht race.
At the time of this post Charles’s ride, Cougar II, is just east of Flinders Island and currently placed 13th in Line Honours and 6th on IRC handicap.
We’re excited to announce that Insight4 won the best ICT Employer Award at the TasICT Industry Awards last Friday.
We’re proud of our team for lots of great reasons, especially those who took a sneaky nap on Friday in preparation for a(nother) big night out at the ICT Awards.
Insight4 were also a finalist for best ICT Solution for RedConnect – a highly customised SharePoint 2010 Digital Learning Platform.
Congratulations also to Daniel Harrison from QikID for winning the best start-up award for his company’s mobile biometric identification app.
Here’s some coverage of the launch today:

Last week Ian and Dan headed to the Tnooz.com Singapore THack – a 24 hour code hackathon sponsored by the online travel industry and Web In Travel. Development teams competed throughout the day (and night) to build the most interesting travel app within 24 hours.
Bravely resisting the desire to drink cocktails and go swimming at the luxury Shangri-la Sentosa Resort (hosting the tHack), Ian and Dan developed SunFlight.net – a website which plots the flight path and position of the sun during your flight, using Google Maps and OAG OnDemand API.
Pretty cool huh? Check out the screenshots above to see it in action, or try it yourself over at SunFlight.net.
