Australian software company Tickit Systems was recently announced as a winner 2009 of the prestigious Consensus Software Award for Tickit On Demand.

Tickit was redeveloped as a Software as a Service (SaaS) application by Insight4 utilising Web 2.0 technologies including Ruby on Rails and Amazon EC2 Cloud Computing.

The move to SaaS architecture has proved popular with the existing client base with more than 95 per cent of Tickit’s client base moving from their in-house application to using the Software as a Service in less than 12 months since Tickit On Demand was launched. Tickit Systems has also recorded significant sales growth since the launch of the new product.

Clients currently include names such as BHP Billiton, Allianz, Toyota and Colonial First State Property Management, CoverMore Travel Insurance and the Australian Football League.
