Insight4 has adopted the Scrum Project Management framework to deliver project outcomes. This technique is rapidly gaining wide industry acceptance as a reliable methodology which delivers project outputs on time and as method to accurately identify issues and help to mitigate risks.
| About Scrum | Scrum is a lightweight agile process, developed to manage and control complex software and development projects using iterative, incremental practices. Scrum has been proven in use across simple projects to complex enterprises programs. Scrum significantly increases productivity and reduces development time while facilitating adaptive, empirical systems development. |
| How Scrum Works |
Scrum is an iterative process that empowers the project owner and the project team to set priorities and deliver complete project components in the most efficient way possible.
Scrum works by allocating all tasks, issues and risks to the Project Backlog. Certain tasks are selected against a 'Sprint', which is a defined period of time in which all identified tasks must be delivered. The Project Backlog is completely transparent to the client, therefore giving full visibility of progress and thus has advantages in reducing project reporting overheads and promoting efficient communication. |
| Support Tools |
To support project implementation, Insight4 uses Atlassian Jira and Atlassian Confluence.
Jira is a web based, fully featured bug and issue tracking application. In conjunction with the scrum management framework Jira becomes the tool to ensure the client gains the full project visibility. Confluence is an enterprise based wiki software, this enables sharing and editing of documents, collaboration, knowledge management and document management. In this manner confluence will ensure that all project documents are accessible, tracked and appropriately managed. |
